METHOD

Each package begins with an in depth analysis of your current health, activity level, body type, sleep quality, stress levels, food log and more. Next, we determine your SMART (specific, measurable, action-oriented, realistic, and time-based) goals. By assessing this information, we create a customized nutrition program tailored to your unique needs to ensure that you have the tools necessary to not only meet your goals, but carry the healthy habits throughout the rest of your life. Whether you are looking to lose body fat, build lean muscle mass, optimize your training performance or live a healthier lifestyle, we are here to guide you along the way to ensure that you stay on track to achieving all of your health and fitness goals. 

After struggling with bloating, acne, energy, and body image issues for countless years without any support or answers, I decided to take my health into my own hands. What started as an urge to heal my body from this dark place quickly transformed into my passion for nutrition & fitness. That passion redefined my life when I quit my career in the corporate sales world to open a Private Training Facility & CrossFit gym, Semiahmoo Athletic Club, with my husband Joe Scali. Since opening our doors in 2014, we have upgraded facilities by doubling in size and equipment, training over 400 members daily, in addition to every local sports team in the area. I pursued an education in Nutrition Coaching because I knew that coaching these clients through fitness for an hour a day was not enough to forge the lifelong transformations that they needed to live their highest quality of life. With more and more clients sharing their success stories after transforming their lives both physically and mentally, my passion project grew into full time coaching business, the conception of Snatches & Samosas. 

 

Snatches & Samosas started out as a Sports Nutrition coaching company. Whether it was losing body fat, gaining muscle mass or optimizing performance, I had the expertise and experience to guide each client to reach their goals, which instilled them with the confidence to achieve optimal health and happiness. Although I was making positive changes in the health of myself and my clients, I still felt that something was missing. It was through my ongoing struggle with health issues and multiple misdiagnoses from doctors that I pursued further education in hormones and how they affect the body. I spent years reading books and emerging studies, listening to speeches and podcasts, enrolling in certifications and courses and conducting self testing only to question what every doctor had ever told me. After ten years of searching for the right answer, I found the missing piece - it wasn’t one diagnosis that would heal my body, but instead a holistic approach of optimizing multiple health factors that would yield the greatest transformation. 

 

I coach every SnS client through these 4 pillars (S-N-E-S) that I believe are non-negotiable to reach their short term goals and optimize their long term health.

EXPERIENCE

Sharan is a Certified Advanced Sports & Exercise Nutritional Advisor and Hormone Specialist. She graduated from the University of Victoria in 2012 with a Bachelor of Commerce, specializing in Entrepreneurship, with a major in Business and a minor in Nutrition. After graduating, she continued to learn and grow in the field of Nutrition by working in the Nutritional Supplements Industry at a company called Vega, which was named the #1 Best Workplace In Canada for 6 years in a row. In 2014, Sharan and her husband, Joe Scali, opened Semiahmoo Athletic Club, a 5000sq ft. Premiere Training facility in White Rock for Private Training, Small Group Training, Sports Team Training & CrossFit. Since then she has worked with worked with a diverse range of clients from high level athletes with optimizing their performance, to females with restoring their menstrual cycle, to individuals interested in improving their body composition and health through customized programs. The driving force behind Snatches & Samosas is a deep desire to help individuals achieve a higher quality of life by providing the tools necessary to create long-term, lifestyle changes. Whether you’re seeking fat loss, athletic performance, disease prevention, or overall health, each client is individually evaluated and provided with a well-researched and comprehensive plan they can follow for the rest of their lives.
