Another #basicAF banger of a recipe - try this SnS approved "ice cream" recipe to satisfy your sweet tooth while staying on track with your goals!
-3 frozen ripe sliced bananas
-1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
-1 tsp vanilla extract
-1/2 cup liquid of choice. I have used Calfia Farms cold brew and made my own decaf cold brew, but a dairy or nut milk would also work
-Add bananas, vanilla extract and liquid of choice and blend on high speed until smooth. I have only tried this using a Vitamix but am sure a food processor would work too!
-Add cocoa powder and continue blending until well mixed. At this point you could sub it out for protein powder, add nut butter, etc to customize it.
-Pour into a freezer friendly jar. I added a few dollops of nut butter between the ice cream layers for a delicious crunch. Customize it to your favourite ice cream flavour by adding in dark chocolate chips, cacao nibs, coconut flakes, etc...
Freeze for 4-5hrs and defrost for 5 mins before serving.
The texture and consistency is just like real ice cream (way better than Halo Top), minus the artificial sugars and preservatives! You can also add in monk fruit or stevia for increased sweetness or flavouring, but ripe bananas hit our sweet spot.
